Art Barn in Le Chable hosts Sculptor Faro, Painter Laurence Bender, Photographer Christian Rappaz “STRUCTURE”, Title of the fantastic new exhibition opening at Art Barn, is an exploration into the layers and structures behind three different mediums, painting, sculpture and photography. Art as a process of construction is explored as are organic themes and variations. All three artists have worked together to select and create works that play with our sense of dimension and space.
Faro, also currently showing at Bex Arts, provides the ultimate platform for the 2 dimensional artists, with a center rectangular sculpture in blue and black wood; from which is born a desire to study endlessly the patterns and random order of the wood.
Laurence Bender, creates here canvas’ which let us glimpse the world of her paintings through intimate small shots of color, scraped away sections, layers of texture or simply a brushstroke. What lies beneath supports her surfaces and is a commentary on our own individual introspection.
We introduce photographer Christian Rappaz. A young and incredible talent from Monthey, He is the ultimate observer. Christian Rappaz is an artist always looking to reveal what lies beneath the exterior structure. He shows in this exhibition a great versatility of photographic medium and also a special relationship with color unseen before.
